Summary: Sometimes, Jensen appreciates the little things. Like being more important than a mattress.
When Jensen wakes up, he feels strangely immobilized, but comfortable. He swallows against the dryness in his mouth, and sighs beneath the weight on top of him, content with the amount of sleep he’s finally been able to have amidst the rush of filming. Something tickles his chest with the rise and fall of it, and he looks down, head slightly elevated on his pillow.
It’s then that Jensen realizes that the restricting circle around his waist is actually Jared’s arms, Jared’s head almost directly over his heart. Jensen’s careful not to move too much when he lifts a hand to gently stroke over the soft hair that’s brushing over his chest as he breathes, marveling at how long it’s gotten – and how much he likes it on Jared. The tips of his fingers reach an exposed area of Jared’s neck, where the hair’s fallen away, and he feels the dampness of Jared’s body, all warmed up in sleep. He can feel it all against his torso, Jared’s cheek over his heart and the rest of Jared on top of him, their legs tangled together. Jensen’s other hand slowly curves up over Jared’s lower back, thumb slipping back and forth. He can feel the movement of Jared’s breathing, too, and how it’s almost synchronized with his own, but not quite.
Jared stirs just a little, and his face shifts against Jensen’s chest, all smooth and freshly shaven, as it usually is for Sam Winchester. Not that Jensen’s ever been opposed to the rough scratch of Jared’s stubble against his body. Jensen strokes and soothes, and Jared’s settled again, fast asleep, muscles relaxed, the purple sheets just covering the swell of his ass vibrant against his skin in this light. Jensen closes his eyes and smiles a little at the feel of Jared half-hard against his thigh. His own dick gives a twitch of interest, but right now they’re just resting, sleeping together, close.
It isn’t often that they sleep like this. They’re generally either on their sides of the bed or spooning in some fashion. This time, Jared’s chosen to use Jensen as a full-body pillow. Jensen’s surprised to actually enjoy the feel of it. There’s something about it, the way it shows possessiveness and vulnerability at the same time, Jared holding Jensen in place to keep him as his own but also preferring the comfort and safety of Jensen’s body over the mattress. Which, Jensen mentally notes, is a rather expensive mattress designed for the comfort of both parties in the bed. When he snorts, thankfully not disturbing Jared, it’s because he feels a bit ridiculous. The fact that he’s more important than a mattress shouldn’t make him feel as warm inside as he does, but it’s still a thought that makes him smile.
